Hero Foundation: Two ways to apply on Employment Hero Jobs

Why this matters

There are two distinct application pathways on the Employment Hero Jobs platform. They look similar but work very differently. Understanding which one you're using — and when to use each — will directly impact the quality of your applications.

Applying for matched and non-matched roles with 1-click-apply

Pathway 1: Matched Roles — 1-Click-Apply

For roles that you’re a good match for, we make applications faster with 1-click-apply.  When you apply through this pathway, your current profile is submitted to the employer in one step. There is no opportunity to attach a custom CV or add a covering letter.

You will encounter matched roles in two situations:

• You tap the link in a matched role SMS and apply directly from there.
• You open a job listing tagged "1-Click Apply" (visible as a purple badge on the listing) and tap Apply now.

1-click-apply is fast and effective for roles where your profile is a strong match and you're happy for the employer to see your current profile as-is. The key is making sure your profile is complete and up to date before applying.

Pathway 2: Standard search and apply

The standard application pathway gives you more control. You find the role through the search bar, open the listing, and apply through the full application form. This pathway allows you to:

• Attach a custom CV tailored to this specific role.
• Write and attach a covering letter.

This pathway is what we recommend for roles you really want, where personalisation will make a difference.
