Hero Foundation: Get matched to roles automatically

How matching works

When you're opted into matching and notifications, our technology actively finds roles that suit your skills, experience, and availability — without you having to search. Instead of spending hours browsing job listings, matched roles come to you.

For matching to work, two things need to be in place: your profile must be complete, and your settings must be configured correctly. See Article 7 (Settings & Opt-ins) for the full checklist.

Understanding matched roles and how to respond to them

Step by step: From match to application

Step 1: Make sure you're opted in

Matching only works if you've enabled the right settings — specifically: "Let hiring managers know you're open to work", SMS notifications, marketing communications, and job alerts. See Article 7 for the full guide.

Step 2: We'll SMS you when there's a match

When a role matches your profile, you'll receive a text message directly to your phone. The SMS will include the job title, employer name, and a direct link to the listing.

Step 3: Click the link and review the role

The link in the SMS takes you to the job listing on jobs.employmenthero.com. Read the full description before deciding whether to apply.

Step 4: Check your profile before applying

Applying from a matched role, SMS sends your current profile to the employer instantly. Before you tap Apply, make sure your profile accurately reflects your most recent experience and availability. 1-Click-Apply is enabled for these roles as you have been matched with the role via your profile.

Step 5: Tap Apply to submit your application

This is a one-click application. Your current profile is submitted immediately. There is no opportunity to add a custom CV or cover letter through this journey.

Step 6: Complete screening questions

The majority of jobs on EH Jobs include screening questions. These are basic questions like salary expectations and working rights that all hiring managers need answered for specific roles. Completing these is an essential step in all applications. If a job has screening questions and you do not complete them, you are very unlikely to be contacted by the hiring manager.

Important

If you want to send a custom CV or covering letter for a matched role, do not apply from the SMS link. Instead, log into jobs.employmenthero.com, search for the same role in the search bar, and apply through the standard search results. This gives you the full application form. See Article 5 for more detail on the two ways to apply.
