Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by asking for both your password and a verification code from your authenticator app. You must have 2FA turned on and verified within the last 24 hours to view financial information on Employment Hero Work.
2FA is now required for viewing your:
- Bank accounts
- Pay Slips
- EA Forms
- PCB2 Forms
- Statutory Details
How to set up 2FA
- Enter your email address and password and tap the Log In button.
- lf you have 2-factor authentication turned on, enter your code into the Code field.
- Tap the Verify button.
- Enter your log-in passcode.
- Re-enter your log-in passcode.
- Log into the Employment Hero Work app.
- Tap on your profile picture or initials in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap Two-Factor Authentication.
 - Tap Authentication app.
- Copy the Key and add this to your chosen Authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, following their instructions.
- Once the key has been added, you will get a code that changes regularly. Type the code you see into Employment Hero Work to confirm the Authenticator app is set up correctly.
- You will now see On written next to two-factor authentication.
- Log into Employment Hero Work.
- Tap on your profile picture or initials in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap the Face ID (for iOS users) or Fingerprint (for Android users) toggle switch. The toggle must be switched to the right to be turned on.
- Enter your passcode.
- You will receive a notification that your biometric log-in has been turned on.
- Tap the Log in with a Different Account button.
- Enter the email address and password and tap the Log In button.
- lf you have 2-factor authentication turned on, enter your code into the Code field.
- Tap the Verify button.
- Enter your log-in passcode.
- Re-enter your log-in passcode.
How to disable the biometric login
- Log into Employment Hero Work.
- Tap on your profile picture or initials in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Tap the Log Out button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select from the following:
- Quick logout - this will end your session and enable you to log back in quickly.
- Full log out - clears all session data and requires log in and authentication.
- Log into the mobile application.
- Tap on your profile picture or initials in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap the Face ID (for iOS users) or Fingerprint (for Android users) toggle switch. The toggle must be switched to the left to be turned off.
- Enter your passcode.
- You will receive a notification that your biometric log-in has been turned off.
Account recovery
If you are unable to verify your identity using either your authenticator app or the SMS alternative, you can submit an account recovery request directly from within the app. You can initiate this from the authenticator screen by tapping Request to recover your account, or from the SMS screen by tapping Use alternative 2FA method.
- On the 2-Factor Authentication screen, tap Request to recover your account.
- Depending on your account setup, one of the following will occur:
- Single brand: You will be automatically directed to the account recovery flow for your brand and taken to the Check your email screen.
- Multiple brands: You will be prompted to select the brand you want to submit your recovery request to. Tap the Select Brand field, choose the appropriate brand, and tap the Continue button to proceed.
- A Check your email screen will confirm that a recovery email has been sent to your registered email address.
- Check your inbox and follow the link in the email to complete the account recovery process.
Important
The link in the recovery email will expire after 15 minutes. If the link has expired, you will need to sign in again and submit a new account recovery request.
Helpful Hint
All internal Employment Hero users will be directed through the Employment Hero account recovery flow, regardless of which brand is selected.
