Use Employment Hero Work as a two-factor authentication (2FA) app

The EH Work app acts as a seamless two-factor authentication (2FA) method, enabling you to use your EH work app as a 2FA device.

When you have EH Work Authenticator enabled on your device, you will receive a push notification if you have push notifications enabled for EH Work. If you do not have notifications enabled, you will need to open the EH Work app to see the 2FA prompt.

Set up 2FA on EH Work

Turning on EH Work Authenticator manually

If you do not have 2FA set up on EH Work, follow the instructions in this article for Employment Hero and payroll accounts, or this article for payroll-only accounts to set this up. You need to enable 2FA in your EH Work account before setting up EH Authenticator.

After you have set up 2FA, then you can set up the EH Work Authenticator. The instructions for how to action this are under Step 2: Enrol your device for the EH Work Authenticator heading.

If you already have 2FA set up for EH Work, then you can immediately move to Step 2: Enrol your device for EH Work Authenticator.

Enrol your device for EH Work Authenticator

Enrol your device
  1. Download or log into the EH Work app.

    Important

    If you already have the EH work app, ensure that your EH Work app has been updated to the most recent version of EH Work before proceeding.

  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Verify existing 2FA.
  5. Create a password.
  6. Confirm the password.
  7. Once you have logged in, you will see that your device has automatically enrolled for the EH Work authenticator.
  8. If notifications are disabled for your EH Work account, then EH Work will ask you to turn on notifications.

Removing the EH Work Authenticator

Disable the EH Work Authenticator
  1. Log into the EH Work app. 
  2. Tap on your profile photo or initials in the top right-hand side corner. 
  3. Tap on Settings. 
  4. Tap on Security Settings. 
  5. Tap on Two-Factor Authentication. 
  6. Tap on EH Work Authenticator.
  7. Toggle off Use this device for EH Work 2FA.

Device Management

View devices set up as EH Work Authenticator

Since multiple devices can be enabled for EH Work Authenticator, you can see which devices have been set up and manage/delete devices.

  1. Log into the EH Work app.
  2. Tap on your profile photo or initials in the top right-hand side corner. 
  3. Tap on Settings. 
  4. Tap on Security Settings. 
  5. Tap on Two-Factor Authentication.
  6. Tap on EH Work Authenticator.
  7. Tap on Device Management.
  8. Here you will see all of the devices that are registered to receive EH Work Authenticator prompts.
