The Employment Hero Work app acts as a seamless two-factor authentication (2FA) method, enabling you to use your Employment Hero Work app as a 2FA device.
When you have the Employment Hero Work Authenticator enabled on your device, you will receive a push notification if you have push notifications enabled for Employment Hero Work. If you do not have notifications enabled, you will need to open the Employment Hero Work app to see the 2FA prompt.

Set up 2FA on Employment Hero Work
If you do not have 2FA set up on Employment Hero Work, follow the instructions in this article for Employment Hero and payroll accounts, or this article for payroll-only accounts to set this up. You need to enable 2FA in your Employment Hero Work account before setting up Employment Hero Work Authenticator.
After you have set up 2FA, then you can set up the Employment Hero Work Authenticator. The instructions for how to action this are under Step 2: Enrol your device for the Employment Hero Work Authenticator heading.
If you already have 2FA set up for Employment Hero Work, then you can immediately move to Step 2: Enrol your device for Employment Hero Work Authenticator.

Download or log into the Employment Hero Work app.
Important
If you already have the Employment Hero Work app, ensure that your Employment Hero Work app has been updated to the most recent version of Employment Hero Work before proceeding.
- Enter your email address.
- Enter your password.
- Verify existing 2FA.
- Create a password.
- Confirm the password.
- Once you have logged in, you will see that your device has automatically enrolled for the Employment Hero Work authenticator.
- If notifications are disabled for your Employment Hero Work account, then Employment Hero Work will ask you to turn on notifications.
Removing the Employment Hero Work Authenticator
- Log into the Employment Hero Work app.
- Tap on your profile photo or initials in the top right-hand side corner.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on Security Settings.
- Tap on Two-Factor Authentication.
- Tap on Employment Hero Work Authenticator.
- Toggle off Use this device for Employment Hero Work 2FA.
Device Management
Since multiple devices can be enabled for Employment Hero Work Authenticator, you can see which devices have been set up and manage/delete devices.
- Log into the Employment Hero Work app.
- Tap on your profile photo or initials in the top right-hand side corner.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on Security Settings.
- Tap on Two-Factor Authentication.
- Tap on Employment Hero Work Authenticator.
- Tap on Device Management.
- Here you will see all of the devices that are registered to receive Employment Hero Work Authenticator prompts.
